§ 6-34. Definitions.

  • (a)

    The term "animal" as used in this article shall include animals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and every kind of vertebrated living creature not including a human being, other than "dogs" as defined in section 6-17 of this Code of Ordinances.

    (b)

    The term "fowl" as used in this article, shall include chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, or other type of domesticated poultry.

    (c)

    The term "livestock" as used in this article, shall include horses, mules, sheep, goats, or any other similar domesticated animal, other than swine.

    (d)

    The term "prohibited animal" as used in this article, shall include the following, to wit:

    (1)

    Any poisonous or venomous biting or injecting species of amphibian, arachnid or reptile, including snakes.

    (2)

    Any snake not indigenous to this state, whether poisonous or not.

    (3)

    Any animal, including fowl, reptile, amphibian, arachnid, bird or fish whose possession is regulated and prohibited by state or federal law.

    (e)

    The term "swine" as used in this article, shall include pigs and hogs.
