§ 22-37. Swimming, boating within certain area restricted.

(a)

There is hereby designated a zone on Cane River Lake in downtown Natchitoches in which it shall be unlawful to swim or to operate a boat at such a speed or in such a manner as to create a wave or wake within the zone as established in subsection (b) of this section.

(b)

The above described "No Wake" and "No Swimming" zone shall extend on Cane River from Lafayette Street extending southward the approximate length of Front Street to Touline Street. Such zone is further described as extending along the area of Cane River on which the city has constructed a concrete retainer wall along the bank.

(c)

All swimming is prohibited in such area.

(d)

No boat shall be operated in such area at a speed in excess of five (5) miles per hour or in such a manner as to cause a wake or wave in excess of six (6) inches in height.
