§ 14-28. Public works director's authority to establish routes and schedules.

(a)

Until otherwise directed by the city council, the public works director is hereby authorized to establish appropriate routes and schedules providing for the pickup of garbage within the residential areas of the city on the basis of not more than two (2) pickups per week.

(b)

Garbage pickup in commercial areas may be made on such basis as may be authorized by the superintendent of streets, taking into consideration proper sanitation of the commercial areas and the protection of the public health.

(c)

Trash collection in the residential areas shall be on the basis of one day a week, in accordance with schedules and routes to be established by the superintendent of streets.
